One Adelaide man has spent the last 43 days walking 770km from Adelaide to Melbourne to support mental health.
Nine years ago, Terry Mitropoulos - a successful businessman and father-of-two - was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
"The recovery time was suggested to be three to four months. In fact, I was in the hospital for four years," Mitropoulos said.
"You know what you've got a fight on your hands, you say 'let's fight it'."
After more than 13 operations he caught a superbug in hospital which led to a stroke.
Doctors said he had a 5 per cent chance of survival, he lost his sight and hearing and was told he may never walk again.
Dubbed 'Australia's Miracle Man', the now 45-year-old has defied the odds and is walking to raise money for the Black Dog Institute through his own Walk and Shine Foundation.
He hopes to raise awareness for mental health, particularly the mental stress endured by those fighting illness.
Mitropoulos arrived at Federation Square in Melbourne's CBD on Friday morning in anticipation for Saturday's AFL Grand Final.
